"Old back boiler finally gave up. KJ decommissioned it cleanly, fitted a combi in the kitchen, made good and left the room usable the same day. Fair fixed price."

In short
St Helens is a town shaped by glass, coal and Pilkington-era terraces, with newer estates ringing the M6 junctions. We work from Parr terraces to Rainford detached on the same honest £50 diagnostic promise.
Dense Coronation-era colliery and glassworks terraces through Parr, Sutton and Thatto Heath; 1950s–70s ex-council semis on the Four Acre and Chain Lane estates; larger inter-war and post-war detached in Eccleston, Windle and Rainford; new-build estates continuing around Haydock and Newton-le-Willows.
St Helens grew around the pit and the glassworks, and much of WA9/WA10 is still the housing that grew with them — tight two-up two-down terraces in Parr, Sutton and Thatto Heath with cast-iron soils, 15mm copper distribution and back-boiler installations that were the norm well into the 1990s. The 1950s–70s Right-to-Buy stock on Four Acre, Chain Lane and Clock Face uses vented systems with cylinders in the airing cupboard and now-tired immersion elements. The affluent belt through Eccleston, Windle and Rainford (WA10/WA11) is larger post-war and inter-war detached housing, often with unvented cylinders and second bathrooms added later on pumped systems. Around Haydock and Newton-le-Willows (WA11/WA12) new-build estates use modern plastic distribution with communal-style manifolds and are prone to hidden push-fit failures a decade in. Ground movement from historic mining does still show up occasionally as cracked underground drainage requiring CCTV survey rather than digging blind.

"Condensate pipe froze on our rural bungalow again. Re-routed internally, insulated properly, hasn't happened since. Fair honest advice."
— Louise B., Rainford · Condensate re-route, Rainford
"Push-fit leak behind a stud wall in a 12-year-old new-build. Found quickly, re-ran in copper, made good. Written report I could send back to the developer."
